Torres del Paine Wildlife Tour
Patagonia symbolizes faraway, still unexplored lands and untouched wilderness. Here, hidden at the far south of the Andes is the Torres del Paine National Park, by far one of the most impressive sights in the Southern Hemisphere. The dramatic mountain formations crowded with glaciers, lakes, fjords, ancient forests and incredibly varied wildlife such as: guanacos, flamingoes, condors, Nandus and Huemules offers one of the most magnificent walks in the world. In 1978 Torres del Paine became a World Biosphere Reserve.
This program appeals to the traveler who is primarily interested in discovering the wildlife of the Park and who may not be well fit to walk over the traditional trekking trails. However, in order to reach the most interesting spots for wildlife and landscape observation we must be able walk gently over rather flat terrain for some 2 consecutive hours with stops on the way. Normally there will be one walk in the morning and another at the evening . The trip caters 4star accommodations in Hosteria Las Torres and Hosteria Grey. Alternatively, you might prefer to spend 2 nights at the amazing Ecocamp and 2 nights at Hosteria Tyndall or similar.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Travel to Torres del Paine, from airport in Punta Arenas. Day 2: Torres del Paine National Park: discover Laguna Azul (home of the Magellanic Woodpecker) and later walk through the "Fauna Trail" plenty of guanacos. Day 3: We drive to the shores of Lake Pehoe. Several stops for birding. Many flamingoes and swans! Later walk close to the furious Salto Grande. Day 4: At lake Grey. Short walk along the Pingo river and later navigate the Grey lake until reaching the Grey glacier. Day 5: Travel to Punta Arenas.
