Whitewater
Kayaking, Chile´s Lake District
Chile
is one of the best areas in the world for whitewater.
This long slender country, 4.300 kms. long and 200kms. wide, has
just about every conceivable kind of climate and terrain. The Andes
mountains, which
contain the highest summit in America and the tallest volcano in
the world, run down the middle of the country from top to bottom.
Since it is such a short distance from the Andes to the Chilean
coast you come across countless whitewater rivers as you travel
from north to south.
